Deirdre McCarney
Head Nurse
Dee originally hails from county Tyrone in Northern Ireland but has made her home in Perth for the past 7 years.
She joined our team in 2016 and took a year's break to try FiFo work. We are very pleased she has chosen to return to us as our head nurse here at the Ark in 2018, where we enjoy her bubbly personality. Dee has over 20 years of Veterinary Nursing experience. Her love, compassion and enthusiasm for animals and the Ark makes her a great nurse and a wonderful fit to our family.

Sanja Markovic
Veterinary Nurse
Sanja is a registered Veterinary Nurse and qualified Groomer who joined us in 2016. She graduated from South Metropolitan Tafe in 2016 but has been in the industry since 2012. Sanja has always had a love and passion for animals and has found her dream job. Her bubbly personality brightens up the hospital and she looks forward to meeting all of your pets.
Sanja has her own fur babies at home, a White German Shepherd named Bonny who has been her childhood friend since Sanja was 9 years old. Bonny sadly passed away late in 2020. Patchy is a little kitten who was dumped in a box at our front desk and Sanja fell in love with her squeaky little meows and decided to foster her. Patchy turned out to be a foster fail and is happily part of the family. Patchy was diagnosed with ringworm upon her unexpected arrival and with Dr Susan and Sanja treating her, she grew all her fur back and has been enjoying life ever since. Sanja also has a love for birds and has two birds at home, a Rainbow Lorikeet named Pj and a Pink and Grey Galah named Gary.
Sanja also has a certificate in grooming and she has many regular clients who are pampered with baths, blow drys, clips and nail trims.

Kiki
Clinic Cat
Kiki is our resident cat. She is 4 years old and has grown up in our clinic since she was handed in by one of our lovely clients who had found her with a broken leg as a very young kitten. She is very much in charge of supervising the goings on and making sure our staff and patients are given enough love and attention. You may see her on the front desk to welcome you and she will often greet cats coming for a visit in their carriers.
She also spends much of her day lazing about in the sunshine, looking out at the garden.
